Ecopsychology suggests that we can read our transactions with the natural environment--the way we use or abuse the planet--as projections of unconscious needs and desires, in much the same way we can read dreams and hallucinations to learn about our deep motivations, fears, hatreds. In fact, our wishful, willful imprint upon the natural environment may reveal our collective state of soul more tellingly than the dreams we wake from and shake off, knowing them to be unreal. Far more consequential are the dreams that we take with us out into the world each day and maniacally set about making "real"--in steel and concrete, in flesh and blood, out of resources torn from the substance of the planet. I'm sure my interests will tell you a good deal; however, here are some details if you simply can't decide whether to friend me or not.

--I'm a resident of Portland, OR; I am a full-time graduate student pursuing a Master's degree in counseling psychology with an emphasis on ecopsychology, an author of pagan/occult books, an artist, a neoshamanic practitioner, and a geek (though not of the computer variety).

--I sometimes post five or six times a day, though I use LJ cuts a lot. Other days you won't read a thing from me. It varies. I use my Twitter account for a lot of one-liners throughout the day.

--This is part personal blog with random day to day miscellany, and part promotion blog for my books and artwork. I also sometimes promote other peoples' stuff, and pass on links of interest.

--If you want to friend me, go for it. If you'd like to introduce yourself, feel free to post a reply to whatever the most recent public post is.

--I'm busy. If I don't reply to your post/comment/email right away, please don't take it personally. I'm constantly buried under an avalanche of communications. So it often takes a few days for me to get caught up.
